I was 23 years old when the song Black Hole Sun was released, and I just loved everything about it!
Here was a song that not only reflected the growing grunge scene, but also harkened back to sounds from the past.
It had an almost sixties sheen to it, with beautiful unexpected chord and melodic changes that utilised a more world music based mode than the standard major or minor scales, and that voice of his was right there in the middle of it like a beautiful shining light that was one of the greatest rock vocalists of all time!
Chris's work with all of his projects (solo, Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Audioslave, etc) was always something very special, just like the man himself.
Rest in peace Chris Cornell. You will always be loved by so many xx
